Q. Can you repair my computer on-site?
Yes, we can perform computer repairs on-site for $50 an hour, but comprehensive diagnostics, virus scans, spyware scans, then removal of viruses and spyware is very time consuming and will most likely take 2 to 3 hours to complete. By picking up your computer and doing the repair in my home I am able to diagnose and scan multiple machines at the same time any hour of the day or night.
Q. Can I bring the computer to you?
Yes, if you prefer to drop the computer off at our office in Hornsby. Just email us or call us before to come here.
Q. How long will it take to repair??
If time is critical, I should be able to do a quick diagnosis, and let you know whether I believe parts will be needed. You can then decide whether to allow me to proceed with ordering the parts for the repair or to have the work performed by someone else. Repairs that require parts will take longer since I do not keep parts in stock.
Q. What about a warranty?
We warranty our service for 30 days following the date the service work was done; however, for repairs involving virus or spyware removal, the warranty is valid only if anti-virus and anti-spyware protection for your product is installed and updated during the repair or promptly thereafter (i.e., before you connect again to the Internet. If our service work is out of warranty, but you feel something has gone wrong with the service we performed, please contact me so that we can work out a resolution. Your satisfaction is extremely important to us.
Q. How can I protect myself against viruses?
The first things you should do are 1) Buy or download a free antivirus program. Update that antivirus program, then run a full scan of your system. 2) Do not open Email attachments--even if you know who they're from. Some Email worms will send mail from a friend or loved-one's computer, so the send might appear to be from someone you know, but might actually contain a virus. 3) Stay away from shady sites.
Q. Is my PC worth saving, or should I simply buy another one?
Depending on the age of your computer, repair estimates, and the intended usage, we help you determine whether it is cost-effective to invest in repairs.
Q. Can my files be transferred from my old Pc to my new PC?
Normally, we can transfer your data from the old computer to your new one.
Q. Will you install computer software, hardware, and parts that I purchase elsewhere?
Yes. But, we cannot warranty the part or credit you the purchase price in the event that it is the wrong part or it fails.
